Grab a Jug in Barcelona

We travel along Barcelona’s urban wine route on our Bodega walk, joining regulars who come in to fill a jug with wine straight from the large wooden barrels that line the walls and pause for a game of cards, a drink, a bite to eat and some banter.

Take One Down and Pass It Around

Many traditional bodegas in Barcelona are lined with bulk wine barrels, chalk marked with their content’s region of origin. But they also sell bottles of wine and other libations – vermut, draft beer and more. We get to sample these drinks, and the traditional Spanish foods that accompany them, at some of the city’s most iconic bodegas on our Barcelona Bodega walk.

Pour Us Another Vermut

The barman at La Bodega d’en Rafel always has a bottle of vermut and a glass at the ready. This spot also offers good cava, local wine, a well poured beer and traditional tapas, but we keep coming back because the people who work here make you feel that you belong – that there will be always a place for you at the bar.
